The RC-808-PLG of Analog Mafia re-creates the famous Roland TR 808 but it delivers much more. It’s a real analog drum synthesizer plugin, created by R&D technicians that worked for Roland in the past.
The RC-808-PLG is a very versatile and surprising VST plugin created by a handful of R&D technicians that worked for Roland in the 70’s and 80’s. The Re-Create 808 plugin emulates the original 808 sound with all analog sources like it was intended. So it is not a drum machine but it is much more, it is a drum synthesizer with 16 drum sources which are all analog synthesizers.
You can download the plugin from the RC-808 website, it can be downloaded for MAC and Windows 64 bit. Just click on the download button which will give you a zip file with the plugin and the preset folders.
The Windows zip file holds several folders.
- You can work with a standalone version which you can find at the Windows.exe folder it has several exe files that you can try. One is the original 808, the other is a simple drum sequencer to use, you can find a separate manual for this in the manual folder. And there is also a Virtual MIDI port installer.
- Next there is a folder with the VST3 version. And as you can see, this version is not version 1, it is still 0.1.3 so there might be some bugs in it.
- Next you will find a folder with all the manuals.
- And finally two folders with some data which holds the presets.
